With Duty and Dignity: Veterans’ Human Rights Conference
This day-long conference brings together advocates, legal practitioners, scholars, and veterans to explore what “human rights” mean in the veterans’ context. Panels will address immigration and citizenship, military sexual trauma, pensions and public benefits for low-income veterans, justice-involved veterans, and the experiences of veterans of color. The event will also highlight the role of law school veterans clinics in advancing rights and access to justice for those who served. Hosted by the New York State Department of Veterans’ Services in partnership with Cornell Law School’s Veterans Law Practicum and Gender Justice Clinic, this convening aims to deepen understanding and strengthen advocacy for veterans’ human rights.
