Through networking events, connection with other military alumni, and opportunities to engage with the broader Cornell alumni community, we provide our alumni veterans and military-affiliated family members the tools they need to leverage their Cornell experience for personal and professional success.

Greg Fairbank ’96, ILR

U.S. Army, Colonel, Military Intelligence 

“I’m very appreciative of the preparation Cornell gave me for the Army, and my civilian career. I feel very fortunate to have commissioned through Cornell ROTC.” 

Fairbank is the CEO of Saratoga Data Systems.

Anne Johnson ’95, ENG

U.S. Air Force, Colonel, Reserve since 2002 

“I applied for an Air Force ROTC scholarship on a whim, and it turned out to be the among the best decisions I have ever made. ROTC gave me an immediate family within the Cornell community, and the program taught me leadership and communication skills that have powered me through my career.”

Johnson is currently teaching aeronautics and optimization at the U.S. Air Force Academy on military personnel appropriation orders, and is also a residential real estate manager. She will retire from the Air Force in 2025 and plans to travel.

Similarly, it was enormously gratifying to wear the cloth of our great nation as part of a team focused on mission accomplishment; yet the enduring camaraderie, mentoring relationships, and friendships make it an incomparable experience.”

Charlotte Levine ’17, A&S

U.S. Army, Captain, Armor Officer 

“Cornell gave me the confidence to lead diverse teams through challenging situations and reinforced my desire to serve the public good. Most importantly, it led me to a group of lifelong friends who supported me throughout my time in military service.”  

Levine is currently an MBA candidate at Harvard Business School and plans to work at Bain & Company after graduation.

U.S. Army, Staff Sergeant (SSG), Infantry 

“Not only did my time at Cornell equip me with the skills and network necessary for a seamless transition from military service to a civilian career, but it also enabled me to forge lifelong friendships.” 

Murphy is a master of public policy candidate at the University of Chicago’s Harris School and plans to return to federal service.

Pickerall is a senior vice president at Changeis Inc.
